Don’t call me Bhabhi! Put a marriage into a Bollywood movie and it definitely works. Yash Raj has put together drama, marriage (shaadi), a crazy bride, an interesting plot, appealing music and a rollercoaster ride in their latest release Mere Brother Ki Dulhan. Katrina Kaif is the star of the show providing pure entertainment along side Imran Khan and Ali Zafar.
Kush (Imran Khan) like a good brother searches for the ideal Indian bride for his brother Luv (Ali Zafar), who stays in London. On his journey, Kush experiences some crazy adventures with several families until he finally finds that perfect girl in Dimple (Katrina Kaif), the most lovable, craziest, funniest and bizarre girl ever.
Both families meet & agree on the wedding and the preparations proceed in full swing but just then Kush falls in love with Dimple... his brother's dulhan.
You’d expect the typical Bollywood tearful drama to take over the movie at this point, but it doesn’t. There is a twist in the tale in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan that catches you by surprise.
Ali Abbas Zafar, the director of the movie, has created magic in his debut film. He keeps you captivated. The comic scenes can be tough but he has handled them well. He knows exactly what the audience will like and has done justice to the film.
Sohail Sen, the son of the music director Sameer Sen, has given the music for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan which is a winner soundtrack. The songs are fun to listen & watch whether it’s ‘Dhunki’, ‘Choomantar', 'Madhubala' and the title track. Isk Risk provides another Rahat Fateh Ali Khan hit and gives a real pleasant buzz about it.
The chemistry between Katrina and Imran with Ali Zafar adding flavour is so easy to watch. It seems just so natural and the comic scenes keeps you glued to the screen. Imran Khan once again proves he is a good actor & lives up to his scenes and Katrina is getting better after every release. Ali Zafar is a supremely talented actor and this film proves it. John Abraham also appears in a cameo.
On the whole, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is a delight to watch which creates a real feel-good entertainer. The comedy, the love story, the craziness, the music & the twist gives it a thumbs up. Yash Raj does it again!
